Complex design

The Antikythera mechanism is an ancient 1st century BC invention, designed to calculate astronomical positions. This machine has the oldest known complex gear mechanism. My love for gears and mechanics clicked into gear ( pun intended) when I first learned about the mechanism, and when it was time to start a company it had to be named Antikythera.

The goal is to fullfill the function

A terrain car can not have its radiator under the engine. A computer with no free memory is not useful. We are surrounded by objects that function poorly, and even some that are useless. Coming from a heritage of practical people and engineers, functionality and design feels very rewarding, and has become our main etics.

    Oilifield work is about solving simple problems in a complex way. Or Solving complex problems in a simple way. It is also an exercise in taking engineering solutions from the drawing board and into the real world, and real oil wells.
